Anonymous communication with on-line and off-line onion encoding

Anonymous communication with onions requires that the  user  application
determines  the  whole  routing  path  of  an  onion.  This  has certain
disadvantages, potential dangers, and does not fit well to  the  current
layered architecture of communication networks.

We show that using universal re-encryption encoding can  solve  many  of
these  problems  by  providing much flexibility -- onions can be created
on-the-fly or in advance by different  parties.  We  show  also  how  to
attach  a digital signature of a processing server so that the signature
can be universally re-encrypted and does not betray a path of a message.
