Introduction to Electronics for Security Engineers

Lecture & Practice classes for Master's track

Lectures are held each Wednesday 09:15, room 21 building C3.
Excercise classes are held each Tuesday at 17:05, room 311d building D1.

Passing

Examination what&when

The examination will take place on June 14 at 1PM, room 32/C4.
It will consist of a set of closed (a-b-c-d) and open questions regarding the covered topics, based on the question set available at egzaminkf.pl (Google translated) -- original site (PL) is here. Note. We have discussed all relevant questions during one of the lectures. This is the list of these questions (you are welcome to dive into other topics on your own!)
The passing mark can be obtained if 50% + 1 point are scored.

Lecture topics

These are the topics covered or briefly discussed during lectures and lab classes:
  • Why electronics. Essential concepts: voltage, current. Ohm's Law.
  • Capacitors. Inductors. RC circuits.
  • Semiconductors: pn junction, diode
  • Junction transistor (1): internal workings, parameters
  • Junction transistor (2): the resistor-man, transistor as a switch
  • Elementary circuits with transistors: switching circuit, voltage follower, logic (inverter)
  • FET transistors: JFET, MOSFET, construction, working, parameters
  • Alternating current, filters
  • Fourier series, frequency domain
  • Modulation/demodulation: AM, FM
  • Digital signals, sampling, coding
  • Shannon criterion, digital modulation (ASK, FSK)
  • Quadrature modulation, QPSK, QAM, MSK
