This course is an obligatory course for Computer Security and Cryptography Master Program.
The course is in English.
Our goal is to develop knowledge and practical skills for composing secure systems from cryptographic components
according to the risks of all kinds and according to practical needs.

lectures: Wednesday, 9:15-11 (moved due to conflict with faculty meetings),
MS Teams platform, and Friday: 11:15-13 (again the original schedule), MS Teams platform

Basic literature:
some electronic teaching material will be available
here, access with a password
to be given during the lecture
Requirements:
Presence during the lectures is obligatory.
The final grade is determined by:
the number of points got for the lab (up to 50 points)
the number of points got for the lecture (exam) (up to 50 points)
after summing them up.
In order to pass the course it is necessary to obtain at least 40% of possible points for the lecture
and the minimal number of points for the lab determined by dr Kubiak.
The following scale applies:
[40,50) - 3.0
[50,60 ) - 3.5
[60,70 ) - 4
[70,80 ] - 4.5
over 80 - 5
5.5 will be given for extraordinary achievements
The exam will be adjusted to the epidemic situation
The verification process will check understanding, skills, creativity related to problem solving.
It is unnecessary to remember details of algorithms, protocols, technical manuals, ...
but it will be necessary to understand them.
Traditionally, the details which are hard to remember, are recalled on the
question sheet.

The detailed rules for the lab are determined by dr Kubiak.
Intellectual Property Rights: no work can be accepted/evaluated in case of
violation of intellectual property rights by the student. Such work will be non-existent
from the point of view of learning points.
The approach will be strict!
Goals:
The lecture has two goals:
get skills in creating secure systems out of secure components,
get some practical experience as well as advanced knowledge.
Prerequisitives:
The knowledge and skills from the obligatory courses from Semester 1 are necessary
to follow the material of the course.
Precision, patience and skills in
problem analysis and writing documentation
are very helpful.
Creativity is very welcome. Seeing the whole spectrum of problems
is the most important skill to be learned.
