General information:

• This course is an obligatory course for Cyber Security Master Programme.
• The course is in English.
• Our goal is to develop knowledge and practical skills for embedded systems used for security systems. This includes in particular creativity and ability to cope with future systems.

Schedule:

• lectures: Monday, 18.55-20:25, building D1, room 312B
• laboratory: guided by Przemysław Błaśkiewicz,
• exam: 19.06, 10AM, D1-312B
  2nd trial: 26.06, 10AM, D1-312B

• some electronic teaching material will be available here online, access through a password

Requirements:

• The final grade is determined by:
  • the number of points got for laboratory (up to 60 points)
  • the number of points during written exam (up to 40 points)
  The following scale applies:
  • [40,50) - dst
  • [50,60 ) - dst+
  • [60,70 ) - db
  • [70,80 ) - db+
  • [80,90 ) - bdb
  • usually 90 suffices for cel, but it can be given also for a smaller number of points in case of extraordinary achievements for some tasks
• For written exam the following grades apply for each question:
  • completed - complete and correct answer, some insignificant errors or gaps are tolerated
  • partially solved - problem solved, but with some gaps and non-critical errors,
  • unsolved - otherwise
• The tests will check understanding, skills and ability of problem solving. Each test will be a short problem (almost a test question) that will demand certain creativity. It is not necessary to remember details of algorithms, protocols, technical manuals, ... but it will be necessary to understand them. Usually, the details which are hard to remember, will be recalled on the question sheet. It will be allowed to use any materials on paper (books, notices, ...) any use of electronic devices will be strictly forbidden and results automatically in grade 0 in the current attempt.
• The detailed rules for laboratory are determined by the instructor.
• Rules for Intelectual Property Rights: no work can be accepted if there are substantial questions concerning ownership of intelectual property rights.

• learn about general issues in embedded systems in security systems,
• get some practical experience.
